[Requests] Comments on proposed Stats DWG

Dear stats experts,

it is very timely indeed to consider the strong overlap of statistics and
geospatial data, services, and applications.

Actually, the concept of multi-dimensional data analytics has first gained
traction in statistics with OLAP datacubes [1]. The same concept, however, also
plays a strong role in spatio-temporal geo data meantime. OGC, ISO, and INSPIRE
know the "coverage" concept for modelling and serving n-D coverages [2], with
proven specs and impementations, used , eg,for 1D timeseries, 2D imagery, 3D
x/y/t image timeseries and x/y/z geophysical voxel data, and 4D x/y/z/t climate
and ocean data. Therefore, it is an important topic to discuss coverages vs
statistics datacubes, exploring ways to bridge the gap and look at the avenues
which combined patio-temporal / statistical analytics opens up.

Given this, the Charter should explicitly mention this as a topic of
investigation referencing the relevant coverage standards [3],

- Coverage Implementation Schema (CIS) 1.1,

- Web Coverage Service (WCS) 2.1,

- Web Coverage Processing Service (WCPS) 1.0.
