Many class attributes in the UML model have the type 'GenericName'.
This does not indicate the scope of the expected value, which in many cases
is defined by classes available from the ISO Harmonized Model or other SWE
UML models.
The table below proposes more specific types for all these cases.
Furthermore, in a number of cases the suffix 'Identifier' is included.
This appears to imply that the attribute is a reference to a resource
available out-of-band.
The suffix is not necessary, providing the attribute name is semantically
accurate, and should be removed.
In the XML encoding, and in particular where the type is an abstract class,
in most places these should be 'by-reference'. So the actual XML type would
be gml:ReferenceType. The value of xlink:href will be a URI, which need not
necessarily resolve to a GML document.
